A wedding is the beginning of a new and wonderful life together. But even though the wedding ceremony is one of the most joyous and heartfelt occasions, it can be one of the most stressful times when planning your wedding day.

Remember to enjoy every moment and to have fun.

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."  Lao Tzu - Philosopher

Setting your wedding date is a "New Beginning". Your imagination will start the transformation into reality. Planning your special day is where the magic begins for you. Everything you do over in the next few months from selecting a gown to securing a ceremony and reception site will come together creating an ambiance that is expressly your own.

Let's take a journey down the imaginary aisle beginning with some of the tasks you will need to start with. Being organized is the first important step for this journey. You will start with a notebook or a file folder to house all your wedding planning paperwork. Next for you is to envision yourwedding day to be - Formal? Casual? Inside? Outside? - and to pick a wedding date and time. After you have made the above decision, begin to decide on a budget and who's responsible for what. If necessary, you made want to hire a wedding consultant who will do a lot of the coordinating with you. Your next  process is to begin working on the guest list. After you have done these preliminary steps, the fun begins by shopping for the gown to wear on your wedding day besides researching vendors (photographer, DJ or musicians). Finally, look for an Officiant who suits your preference.

In order for your special day to take off as you want it, make plans to visit ceremony and reception sites. After finalizing this decision, try to book soon to hold your wedding date. Your next important selection will be on your attendants - Maid/Matron of Honor, Bridesmaids, Best Man, and Ushers/Groomsmen. After finalizing your attendant list, begin to decide on dress decisions. If you have any guests who will have a distance to travel, you will need to contact them immediately so they can start making travel plans. Another important step in the planning process will be to decide on and to meet with the Officiant to discuss the wedding ceremony.  Other details of importance is to choose a caterer and menu selection, reserve a photographer and/or  videographer, florist, and reception entertainment.

Six to eight months before the wedding date, order your gown, invitations and announcements, rehearsal dinner date, pastry chef for the wedding cake, choose ceremony music or musicians, register for you wedding gifts, and set aside a blocks of hotel rooms for out of town guests. These are some of the details needing to be carefully attended too. Remember, this is a very fun moment in your life. Enjoy the planning and think positive because this is the moment you have been waiting for with anticipation.

You are now approaching the three to five month period and it is time to finalize your guest list and start addressing the invitations. Continue on your task by contacting the newspapers to announce your engagement, confirming the delivery for your wedding gown and bridesmaids' dresses and schedule appointments for the fittings. Your next important detail is for the Bride and Groom to shop for the perfect wedding bands. The Groom starts looking for a tuxedo along with his Groomsmen. If you are planning a honeymoon abroad, make sure your passport and visas are in order. Book your rehearsal dinner site.

The remaining few weeks before your wedding day has arrived. Begin to send out invitations. Order your ceremony program, arrange transportation for the wedding party, and most important, have lots of fun at your shower and bachelorette parties.

During this time, decide on and purchase all accessories prior to the final fittings and buying gifts for the wedding party. Make arrangement to pick your wedding rings, obtain the marriage license, and work on a list of songs for the DJ or band.

The last two weeks before your wedding day is to have a final head count of guests. Finalize the seating chart and place cards. Confirm the final arrangements with your florist,  pick up your wedding gown as well for the Groomsmen to pick up their tuxes, and have your rehearsal planned along with your rehearsal dinner.

The two days before your wedding day has some important tasks to complete. Cut checks for the final payment to vendors and the Officiant. Put together your wedding gown and accessories. Confirm all travel plans for your honeymoon.

And at last from all this preparation you have done, it is time to have fun and relax at your rehearsal dinner.
