I want the Intending Couple to feel very comfortable with me. It is an honorable position for me to deliver the utmost joyful wedding ceremony to the marrying couple. This is their day as family and friends gather together happily watching the Intending Couple exchange wedding vows with each other.
The invited guests will witness the ceremony as this marrying couple gingerly place a wedding ring onto the ring finger of each other separately saying the enchanting words, "I Do", after their wedding vows.
The Fee for officiating at a lawfully solemnizing ceremony and certifying a marriage will be in accordance with the Massachusetts General Law (MGL) under Chapter 262: Section 35. Marriage. Please see the section on Fees.
The marrying couple shall obtain a valid marriage licencse before the ceremony issued and signed by the clerk or assistant clerk in any Massachusetts city or town. Marriage will be performed on date appears in the margin of the license.
Marriage license must be given to the Justice of the Peace (JP) before the ceremony or no marriage can be performed.
The JP will sign and return the completed marriage license to the city or town clerk of the community to where it was issued.
A preliminary meeting with the Intending Couple is the first step for the Justice of the Peace and the couple to become acquainted and review the ceremony. This initial discussion will involve the preparations, wedding rehearsal, ceremony, special requests, and fee.
The Intending Couple will review any concerns with the ceremonial format. Reading(s) can be said as to the wishes of the marrying couple.
A Ceremonial Format may include the following steps: Welcome, Introduction, New Beginning, Meaning of a Marriage, Readings and Special Remarks (optional), The Question of Intent, The Vows, The Ring Exchange, Touching of Hands, Important Qualities, and The Pronouncement.
As a Justice of the Peace, I agree to perform the said above duties with "Due Diligence" according to the highest standards bestowed upon me as required by the Justice of the Peace in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
